That next gig is tonight (Aug. 21) at the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas, followed by a show tomorrow in New Orleans, La. The only canceled show was a private fundraiser this past Saturday just outside Denver, Colo. The host of that event told the Denver Post that Willie was having trouble breathing the morning of the show and was taken to the hospital.
“He’s not going anywhere,” Schock says of her legendary client. “It really was high altitude-related.”
The now-healthy Willie is gearing up for his Railroad Revival Tour this fall. Jamey Johnson, Band of Horses, and actor-musician John C. Reilly are joining the Redheaded Stranger for the unique trek, which has them traveling by way of 1940′s railway cars. They’ll perform at makeshift venues beside the railroad tracks at eight stops around the country, beginning Oct. 20 at the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth, Ga.
